Who am I?
I’m Andy Stiller (BSc Hons, MBCS) and I’m promoting my work under the name AndyHat Consulting. I’m an experienced software developer and ICT consultant based in Brighton, East Sussex. I also teach part-time and am an enthusiastic photographer. I particularly enjoy taking pictures at large social events, such as Brighton Carnival and Paddle Around The Pier, and have recently displayed my photographs in local pubs and cafés.
I’ve hand crafted this website to showcase my skills and experience. It is aimed at small businesses, charity/non-profit organizations and individuals who need photography, teaching, ICT (information and communication technology) support or web design, in the hope of finding more consultancy work in all these areas. However, if any business were to offer me an attractive, permanent part-time job I would be extremely interested.
I love helping people in whatever way I can, whether teaching them, providing support or simply repairing their computers.
Why choose me?
I can provide a range of services including photography, teaching, ICT consulting and web development. While in each single area there are almost certainly people with more in-depth experience, with such a range of skills I can provide an excellent, integrated service that would be hard to match. I’m also able to assist in the management of a huge variety of projects.
I’m friendly, self-motivated, dedicated, focused on achieving set objectives, honest, punctual and very hard working. I have my own car and am am willing to travel short distances throughout Sussex and Kent.
I am a professional member of the British Computer Society, with a Physics and Computing honours degree from the University of Sussex and a further City & Guilds certificate in programming in C.
I am a skilled software developer with more than six years’ commercial experience of C, C++, Visual Basic 6 and SQL software development and three years’ designing and developing software in C#. With over 14 years’ experience of providing technical support for both PC and Mac users and an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of software and hardware, I am able to provide a valuable service to both small companies and home users.
I have recently gained a Level 3 qualification in teaching in the Life Long Learning sector (adult education), and am now involved in voluntary work at the Friends Centre in Brighton, teaching basic IT skills.
I’m a volunteer photographer for local non-profit organizations including Brighton Carnival, the Everyman UK and Passing It On . I exhibit and sell some of my work in the form of greetings cards, calendars and prints.
