Who Am I
I love helping people in whatever way I can, whether teaching them, providing support or simply repairing their computers.
I’m currently looking for part time training work to complement my web development work.
I have a Physics and Computing honors degree from the University of Sussex and a further City & Guilds certificate in programming in C.
I have a Level 3 qualification in teaching in the Life Long Learning sector (adult education), and have worked as an IT and Disability Awareness trainer.
I have a wide variety and good depth of experience in IT, training and project coordination. This experience has bee gained from a combination of employment, self-employment, volunteering and personal experiences. I continually try to learn and improve.
I have provided a range of services including photography, teaching, ICT consulting and web development. While in each single area there are almost certainly people with more in-depth experience, with such a range of skills I can provide an excellent, integrated service that would be hard to match. I’m also able to assist in the management of a huge variety of projects.

I have taught my IT consultancy clients of all skills levels. I have previously been a mentor and tutor for a junior software developer as well as a GCSE mathematics tutor.
I have more than 3 years experience as a classroom tutor teaching IT skills (from beginners to level 3 Microsoft Office).
I also have over 3 year experience developing and delivering IT courses. I have also delivered (and modified) a pre-prepared Disability Awareness /Confidence course either as a solo trainer or part of a small team of trainers.
I am an experienced web developer with over 4 years commercial experience of building and maintaining Drupal websites.
I am a skilled software developer with more than six years commercial experience of C, C++, Visual Basic 6 and SQL software development and three years designing and developing software in C#. With over 14 years experience of providing technical support for both PC and Mac users and an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of software and hardware.
I’ve extensive software development and PC support experience, enabling me to understand and manage a wide variety of IT projects and provide IT consultancy services. I have a broad knowledge of operating systems and commercial products.
Project Coordination Experience
My previous work has included a large amount of project coordination across multiple concurrent software development projects and releasing the results on a single CD. I have also conceived, built and run a disability website for over 12 years (6 years in it's final form) before transferring it in 2017 to a local disability organisation.
Previous projects have also included:
- Specifying and maintaining a set of office PCs
- Maintenance of an MRP system on an RS600 AIX server
- Installation and configuration of a stock control system
- Assisting with the IT strategy and support for non-profit organizations
- Founding, building and running the Disability Advice website
I have been a volunteer photographer for local non-profit organizations including Brighton Carnival, the Everyman UK and Passing It On. I have exhibited my photography and sell some of my work in the form of greetings cards, calendars and prints.
